Eco-Friendly Hotel in Guatemala

Hotel Pan American is deeply committed to the Guatemalan environment and our native culture and traditions. We believe in sustainable tourism and make it a part of our daily operations.

By implementing eco-friendly best practices, our property continues to minimize the amount of energy it consumes on a daily basis. We also train and encourage our employees to reduce their impact on the environment.

From waste management to limiting greenhouse-gas emissions, our hotel staff and management recognize the importance of giving back to the local economy and the preservation of our resources.

Thanks to all efforts we have done, we have been certified by the Rainforest Alliance for hotels.

PRESERVATION OF OUR CULTURE

We strongly believe in the preservation of our culture and traditions. This is why we enhance our gastronomy by serving local and authentic Guatemalan cuisine with ingredients provided by area producers.

Our hotel is a historic icon in the heart of the city and our decor incorporates local textiles. We further embrace our culture by supporting local community activities.

REDUCTION OF WASTE

We believe in recycling to minimize waste. In fact, we have implemented the use of Eco-filter, a plastic waste reduction technology as well as a diesel reduction system in our laundry room to eliminate environmental pollution. Further efforts include a waste-specific garbage recycling system and a resource reuse system.

SUPPORT FOR CHILDREN

We support the Secretariat against sexual violence, exploitation and the trafficking of people. Furthermore, we strongly believe that the exploitation of children in travel and tourism should not be allowed.
