The Hotel Pan American has been setting the hospitality standard in Guatemala City since welcoming our very first traveler more than 70 years ago. While we’re proud of our awards and accolades, we take even greater pride in our guests’ feedback. If you’re considering a visit to the Hotel Pan American, please experience our hotel through the eyes of your fellow travelers by reading the hotel reviews below.
At Hotel Pan American, we listen carefully to our guests. In fact, we take care of our guests and listen carefully to their comments. They encourage us to improve our service and identify our weaknesses so that we have the opportunity to redesign processes and make them strengths.
We used to live and work in Guatemala, and we went to the Pan Am Hotel for meals on a regular basis, and loved it. (70s, 80s, 90s) It was great to be there again recently and revisit the authentic Guatemalan charm and hospitality. The restaurant still offers lovely meals at an affordable price, in the beautiful atrium. The pies are still to die for!!

I have stayed at the Hotel Pan American on four separate occasions over the last twelve months whilst working on a project in Guatemala. I can't recommend this hotel enough - the staff are extremely friendly and accommodating, the rooms are clean and functional, the food (in particular the breakfast) is delicious and the location is very convenient for the historic Centre. The rates are also extremely conservative compared to the expensive chain hotels in Z.10, and the atmosphere and charm make it especially enjoyable and a much better place to stay.
This is neither a fancy nor modern hotel, but that is very much part of its charm and I hope to return again someday if I'm ever back in Guatemala City.

Comfy! Three traveler...three beds! Enough space and comfortable for a short trip. Excellent location on Centro historico.. Exactly what we were looking for! Came for Metallica concert. I definately would recommend it!

We loved this place. Tiny room but who needs more space? We stayed here like 3 nights but one was pretty much just sleep since we went to Tikal on a red eye and came back late that same night. We had dinner in the restaurant one night and it was delicious. The door man was incredibly helpful when we asked him if and how to purchase a cell phone. They held our bags when we came in early the first day. And best of all, it was centrally located to everywhere we needed to go including the capital building and la sexta avenida.
